Lake Tiorati/Silvermine, Harriman State Park, NY
Start from Tiorati Circle, follow the blue connector to Long Path. Head north to Hippo Rock. Change to Memomine (Y) to Silvermine Lake. After lunch, continue with (Y) to Brien Memorial Shelter, then RD (R) back to Lake Tiorati. Short cuts are available for leisure hikers.

Kittatinny Mountain, Delaware Water Gap, NJ
With elevations of 1400 to 1800 feet, the Kittatinnies offer spectacular panorammas from High Point, Sunrise Mt., and innumerable other over looks. This trail contains mostly flat path with many magnificent views of the Delaware River.

Oyster Bay, Long Island
Start from the IU Willet HS, bike on country roads to Oyster Bay. Visit Sagamore Hill, Roosevelt Memorial Sanctuary, Planting Fields Arboretum and many gorgeous estates on the way. Expect some busy traffics and hills on the road.

Starting on Blue Disc trail from Johnsontown Circle. Be prepared for uphill climbing for approx.
2 miles. Late lunch at the Lake Skenonto with lake view. Go back along the White-Bar trail at a leisurely
walking pace.

Parker Cabin Mt at Harriman Park
Start from Route 106, follow the red trail, walk up Parker Cabin Mt and Tom Jones Mt. Take the Victory (Blue) trail back to the parking lot. Hilly in the beginning but mostly flat to the lunch spot; lunch will be on Lake Skenonto.

Friday 7/4/2008 - (Independence Day) 3 Days Family Camping
Taughannock Falls, Finger Lake Region, NY (Limit 40 people)
This is a relaxed family camping at Finger Lake area in New York. The gorge and rim trails offer spectacular views from above and below the falls. Campsites overlook Cayuga Lake, with boat launch and beach nearby. Day activities: hiking, biking, boating, swimming ... Please bring your own camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, cooking utensil, etc.).
Fees: $20 members, $25 non-members, children under 10 are free (Include BBQ and camp ground).

From the Mountain Rd./ parking lot trailhead, we will ascend Storm King Mt. on the Stillman trail, passing through many scenic viewpoints. Then loop around North Point with a view that looks like a Scandinavian fjord and return via the blue trail near Pitching Point with more viewpoints.

From the parking at Rt.106, climb up to Black Rock Mountain to Ship Rock then go to Lemon Squeezer. Enjoy the feeling of walking and squeezing between big boulders. Have lunch on Island Pond and return on the flat service road.

Aggressive hikers visit the Valley of Boulders and follow the AT Trail to the pond. Return by the White Bar to the parking lot.

Delaware River, New Jersey/Pennsylvania
Canoeing 10 miles on the Delaware River from Bushkill to Smithfield Beach. This is a fairly easy trip and paddle time is about 3.5 hours. Canoe rental rate is $32 per person (for 10 or more people) and two people per canoe.

Trail maintenance on the Shore Path trail along the Hudson River in New Jersey; pick up trash, trim protruding branches, etc. Tools will be provided by trip leaders. The trail over Schunemunk Mountain offers a series of fine lookouts and a varied terrain. The Storm King Art Center can be seen from the ridge. Enjoy the special vegetations and rock formations on the ridges. The complete traverse makes a good day trip. Expect some steep up hills and descents.

Russian Bear/Pine Meadow Lake, Harriman State Park
Start from the 7 Lakes Drive visitor center, follow the blue then orange trail to Russian Bear. After enjoying the view of the Ramapo valley, then go down to Pine Meadow Lake. Take a walk around the lake for the winter view and return to the visitor center through the white trail along the Stony Brook.
